The TISAX® standard (Trusted Information Security Assessment Exchange) defines the standards for Information Security Management Systems (ISMS) in the automotive industry. It is an assessment based on ISO 27001. The goal is to ensure that no company-related data is disclosed externally and that it is optimally protected. The ENX Association, the association of the European automotive industry, has been managing the TISAX® brand since 2000.
Similar to ISO 27001, TISAX® defines requirements for the structuring, implementation, and operation of ISM systems. The security requirements therefore remain largely the same. TISAX® merely adds further requirements specifically for prototypes and data protection.
TISAX® certification is conducted using the ISA questionnaire (Information Security Assessment), provided by the German Association of the Automotive Industry (VDA). For TISAX® certification, the VDA ISA questionnaire covers three areas: information security, data protection, and prototype protection.
