The data controller, usually the management, is responsible for data protection training. The internal data protection officer monitors the training sessions in accordance with Article 39 Paragraph 1 lit. b GDPR and often conducts them in consultation with management. The training sessions can be held as on-site in-house training or as online training, which can be completed independently of time and location.

According to Art. 4 No. 2 GDPR, processing includes the collection, storage, transmission, deletion, organization, retrieval, consultation, and disclosure of personal data.
